CouchTrek is a multiplayer prototype built around crews, cooperation, rivalry, trading, combat, and discovery. The game is rough, experimental, and actively changing, but the expectation for player behavior is simple: treat other players like real people.
By playing CouchTrek, you agree to the following:
1. Respect other players.
No harassment, threats, stalking, targeted abuse, or personal attacks.
2. Keep in-game conflict in-game.
Piracy, combat, betrayal, trade wars, and rival drama are part of the game. Real-life insults, harassment, or grudges are not.
3. No slurs or hateful content.
Do not use language or names that attack race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality, or other protected traits.
4. Do not exploit or grief the prototype.
Bugs will happen. Report them. Do not abuse bugs, duplicate items, trap players through broken systems, or intentionally damage the test environment.
5. No impersonation.
Do not pretend to be another player, admin, developer, moderator, or faction representative outside normal roleplay.
6. Keep chat usable.
No spam, flooding, malicious links, profanity, or disruptive nonsense that makes communication impossible.
7. Respect admin decisions.
Admins may warn, mute, kick, suspend, wipe, or ban accounts to protect the test and the community.
8. Prototype warning.
CouchTrek may break, reset, wipe, change balance, lose ships, or behave unpredictably. Participation means accepting that this is an active test.
9. Administrative review.
In-game communications and activity may be reviewed for moderation, abuse reports, bug investigation, and server protection.
Bottom line:
Play hard. Scheme, fight, trade, build, lose ships, and tell stories. Just do it without making the game worse for the people behind the other screens.
